Privacy Stable

Effective 11 August 2026

This policy explains the privacy practices for Gatewise Mangakawa, an offline educational fieldbook. It is written to describe the app as released, rather than to promise services that the app does not provide.

Use the numbered sections below to understand what the app does, what it does not do and the local controls available on the device.

01

Scope and purpose

Gatewise Mangakawa is an offline reference designed to support calm, adult-guided conversations about pony observation, preparation, equipment questions, space, welfare and handoffs. This policy applies to the Android app and the public support pages published for it. The app is not a membership system, event portal, live club notice service, veterinary service, emergency service, equipment-certification tool or substitute for competent human judgement.

02

Who is responsible

The app identifies Cambridge East Mangakawa Pony Club Incorporated as the responsible legal entity. Its postal privacy channel for this release is: Cambridge East Mangakawa Pony Club Incorporated, 63 Victoria Road, RD 1, Cambridge 3493, New Zealand. The app does not include an email link, telephone link, web form or other messaging channel.

03

Information the app does not collect

The app does not ask for, collect, transmit, sell, rent or share names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, rider or guardian profiles, photographs, videos, audio, location, attendance, results, certificates, medical details, emergency contacts, payment details, identifiers, device advertising identifiers or free-text entries. It has no account, sign-in, registration, membership, registration-to-event or messaging feature.

04

Offline operation and no network connection

The Android app is designed to operate without an Internet permission. It does not connect to a server, fetch current weather, maps, schedules, rules, notices or club updates, open a WebView, submit a form, launch a contact action or send app content to the legal entity or another party. The support site is a static information site; visiting it in a browser is separate from using the offline app.

05

Temporary choices inside the fieldbook

Choices made while exploring prompts, such as a manual condition, a room, a readiness prompt or a selected care handoff, are used only to shape the current on-screen experience. They are not tied to a person or pony, are not uploaded, and are not intended to create a record. Closing the app, clearing its storage or uninstalling it removes app-controlled temporary state.

06

The Reduce Motion preference

The only preference intended to persist is Reduce Motion. If enabled, this setting is stored privately on the device so that interface movement can remain reduced on a later launch. It is not connected to an account, is not shared with anyone and can be cleared using the app's local reset option, Android clear-storage controls or uninstalling the app.

07

Storage, backup and device transfer

The app uses private Android app storage only for the optional Reduce Motion preference. Android backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the app. The app does not request shared-storage access and does not write a rider, pony or household record to shared files, cloud drives or removable storage.

08

Permissions and device features

The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, Bluetooth, notifications, health data, phone, advertising ID or shared-storage permissions. It has no body-, helmet- or horse-mounted camera function. It does not use device sensors to identify a rider, pony, household or place.

09

No advertising, analytics or tracking

The app contains no advertising, ad targeting, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting SDK, telemetry, remote configuration, profiling, cookies, social plug-ins or cross-app tracking. It does not build behavioural profiles, measure an individual's app use or share usage information with advertisers, analytics providers or data brokers.

10

Children, young people and guardians

The fieldbook is intended for guardian-, caregiver-, coach- or competent-adult-supported use. It does not offer child accounts, private adult-to-child messaging, social feeds, public rosters, leaderboards, follower systems, streaks or direct collection of child information. Safeguarding, supervision, consent, emergency decisions and participation arrangements remain the responsibility of the adults and organisations involved, not the app.

11

Equine welfare and safety boundaries

Gatewise Mangakawa offers general educational prompts, not a diagnosis or instruction that a pony, rider, space or item of equipment is safe. It does not provide veterinary advice, lameness assessment, illness or injury assessment, treatment, medication, feeding prescription, farrier advice, tack fitting, helmet tagging, equipment certification, training procedure or return-to-ride clearance. Pause activity and seek appropriate competent or professional help when a concern arises.

12

Current rules, notices and external sources

Some source notes point to public organisations and guidance so a reader can independently check current material outside the app. Those sources may change. The app does not receive live feeds and does not claim to publish current club rules, membership information, event schedules, helmet standards, safety notices, weather conditions or emergency instructions. External sites have their own terms and privacy practices.

13

Sharing and disclosures

Because the app does not collect or send personal information, it has no app-held personal data to sell, disclose, share for advertising, transfer to partners or use for automated decisions. If a person independently contacts the legal entity or another organisation through a channel outside the app, that separate communication is governed by the practices of the recipient and is not created by Gatewise Mangakawa.

14

Security and limitations

Keeping information on the device rather than transmitting it reduces some privacy exposure, but no device or software environment is risk-free. Protect the device with the security measures appropriate to the household. The app is not designed for storing sensitive information; users should not treat the app as a secure record store, emergency channel or source of live operational information.

15

Your local controls

A user may change or reset the Reduce Motion preference from within the app. Android settings can clear the app's storage, and uninstalling the app removes app-controlled local state. There is no account or remotely stored app profile to access, correct, export or delete because the app does not create one.

16

International use

The app is presented in English and is designed around New Zealand educational context. It does not intentionally transfer app data across borders because it does not transmit app data. People using the static support site from another country should note that browser access may be subject to the laws and infrastructure of their own connection and hosting provider.

17

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices materially change, the policy, app behaviour, store disclosures and any public policy page should be updated together before the changed version is released. The effective date above identifies the version of this policy. Continued use after a future release is not a substitute for reviewing a materially changed policy.

18

Privacy questions

For questions about this policy, write to Cambridge East Mangakawa Pony Club Incorporated at 63 Victoria Road, RD 1, Cambridge 3493, New Zealand. The app does not include a contact form, mail action or message channel. Any future contact channel will be reflected in a corresponding policy update.
